You have to have cut outs on the pistons to run BD14 cams, BD10s are fine.

I have had 2 engines running BD14s and both had valve cut outs.
I was told you can run standard pistons but have to advance the cam timing!!!

Whats spec of your engine??

spec not much full rebuild ,head ported and polished,as above new pistons,greys,rs500 intercooler, air to air, normal other things map, catch tanks, and so on and a hugh £2000 turbo the guy goes as long as the bd14 is fitted and timed at tdc the valves will not hit

Not worth the risk though is it!!!!

You could get valve bounce at high rpm which could make valves hit pistions.

thats what i was told to buy ,thats why i am stuck now as he has rebuilt the engine now ,so its either put normal cams back or take out the pistons
but i was thinking if the cams worked (bd14) i might get away with it

If it was me and id spent the money on what you have already bought i would go BD10 route.
