Default bucket seat mounts?

hi, i have some bucket seats in the shed which i bought a couple of years ago. I have more recently bought a project car with a welded in sub frame.
My seats mount with four vertical bolts like a conventional seat, however the subframe is meant for a seat with horizontal mounts through the sides of the seat.
My question is, which is better? vertical or horizontal mounts? or does it matter? Thanks alot

?? Can't grasp what your saying ?

My seat rails mount vertically to the chassis, but the seat is mounted to them horizontally through the side.

So Im confused lol

alternatively a seat could mount vertically into the frame as opposed to the horizontal mounts on your seats. like a recaro would. My seats mount like a recaro so does this mean that they are not meant for competition? i bought them from a rally team?
