Default Q plate - Any info e.g cost etc...

Hello,

I'm sure that some enthusiast has been here and done this so hopefully someone will be able to advise me.

If i reshell my xr4x4 into an older shell does anyone know whether the older identity can be kept?

Also does anyone know what it costs?

All help greatly appreciated.

if all your doing is just changing everything over to the new shell, and using that identity there should be no problem.,just as long as you scrap the old one!

Default Q plate

Thanks for replying. Did you mean I should keep the body shells I.D?

I am transfering the running gear from a mk2 sierra into a mk 1 shell thus the identity from the running gear would make it appear newer than it is. Also I would have to alter the shell by putting the larger transmission tunnel from the mark 2 sierra.

I recently read in the curent Fast Ford that the car could be registered as a Q plate if there is less than a certain amount of parts still remaining in the original car. This really prompted further questions.

I didn't find the dvla web site clear although Ive yet to give them a call.
