well i ave a ford escort and for some reason puttin it into 1st can sometimes be a struggle, i dont know anything bout cars any suggestions?? much appreciated

 

what escort????? here's a few common reasons,could be worn linkage(if it's a turbo),gearbox itself knackered or the clutch is worn

need more info ie:is it when 1st started and cold or after the car's warmed up etc

 

is it just 1st gear or all gears????

 

if you cant get into gear then id say its the same problem ive had which is the clutch plate sticking to the flywheel!!
