Thats a bit high m8

Unless your car is chucking clouds of blue smoke out the back

Ford state in the orig paperwork that came with cosworth that they can use upto
1 litre of oil in 600 miles depending on driving style

Dont post on here much, but I do see this topic alot on this site.

The reality is YES you will need to top up with oil. I have owned a few cossies 2wd and 4x4 and all have used some oil, valve stem oil seals and renewing the turbo can help but it normally down to the amount of abuse the rings/bores have had and the Ford tolerances are poor compared to new age engine designs (its not a Mercedes) .

Its all relative, whilst driving around in a 25yr Engine Design, the harder you drive it the more you will be topping it up with oil. The design has had some improvements in the Escort Cossies so probably wont be so common to top up.

Trust me, if you drive a cossie everyday like you have nicked it you will have the bonnet open more than you visit the petrol station.
Drive it like an old man and it will probably last with a top up for every 500miles/100 litres of fuel. to everyone that owns one though it a turbo thing.
