had a major problem with the clutch in my s2? first of all it wouldnt go into gear( first being the hardest),then if i did manage to get it into gear then it would be a right effort and made a right clonk!! so i took the box out and had a look then put another box in,the same thing happened.so ive took the box out again and im putting a new clutch kit in hopefully this will cure my problem as ive been told what might have happened was that the pressure plate may have been sticking to the flywheel and the release bearing may not be releasing when depressing the pedal,anyone had this or similar problem????

 

I had a similar problem where clutch cable had stretched over the years and obviously wasn't pulling tight enough so wouldn't engage. fitted a new cable and hey presto. Jobs a guddun'

ive fitted a new cable too,but to no avail! it does seem to be the pressure plate sticking to the flywheel

 

it will be the pressure plate as u said, mine was doing it when i brought mine a few years ago, changed the clutch = fine

 

what so was it not going onto gear at all ????
