What is the best exhaust to fit to my 96N escort cosworth i need to remove the small cat so im looking at a full sytem from the turbo backwards.I dont want to have trouble with it fouling the bodywork or floor ect SO whats the general consensis???
I have a mogoose system on mine (big turbo) with the centre box removed for a bit of extra clearance (and sound!!) i have been told that the magnex are a real good fit as they replicate the original system, so ground clearance shouln't be a problem.

WHAT IS THE SOUND LEVEL LIKE AS FOR EXPENSIVE WHAT DO YOU CLASS AS EXPENSIVE NOTHING IS CHEAP ON THESE CARS ASIM STARTING TO FIND OUT.ALSO IS IT AN EXACT COPY OF THE ORIGINAL OR JUST A SINGLE PIPE
Had a cat back magnex on mine when i bought it.
I put an early saph 4x4 non cat downpipe on and had the cats removed by a straight through pipe fabricated by my local powerflow exhaust dealer.
It revved up a bit better after this but i have since changed it for a full mongoose system from turbo back and its so much better. And sounds better than the magnex aswell.
Only problem now is mot time. Got through last one but may have to have a sport cat fitted next time.
Cheers Chris

No good then im after a system that replicates the original one so i have maximum ground clearance and the hangers are in same place as the factory ones so as not too risk fouling the body work ect cheeRS though radman
To be honest i doubt there is much noticable BHP difference between the systems, especially if there all the same size bore with similar straight through rear silencers.
I think magnex have the best looking tail pipe though!!!
Have you thought of a custom exhaust system ?? then you get exactly what you want in terms of fit and sound. My mate had one done and they can tune the sound at different rpm, ie if you want it to be loud at idle but quite during motorway crusin they can supposidly do it !!

Apparently the magnex for a big turbo is the exact same exhaust as for the small think ill get in touch with magnex themselves.Or failing that ill buy system from cat back and take original front pipe to an engineers and get them to fabricate one minus the small cat.
There are sometimes front pipes on e-bay for sale from other stainless systems, one thing you do notice is that with a 3 inch front pipe it gets very close to alot of other parts under there !!

The solution is to ake it oval. I talked to custom exhaust company over here and they say it isn't a big technical problem.
