s2 misfirin under load

ok, heres where the story starts.....
after replacing my headgasket about 100 miles ago, all has been running fine, oil and water levels r fine, temps have been fine, evrythin has been spot on. then this mornin i go for a drive, change dwn frm 3rd to 2nd, not violently, just as normal, because im stil driving it gently to settle head down. all of a sudden it starts to misfire.
i pull over and check it agen. on the spot it seemed fine, so i figured it had justr been a freak prob, then soon as i put it under load agen wen i lifted the clutch, the mis cama back.
heres where it gets strange. wen im in reverse theres no misfire, or wen its stationary, its only in forward gears. so off i go for a compression test. results r fine, all same reading all the way across. so not a head problem clearly. piston rings r fine and always have been, no smoke frm exhuast under load, so they must b fine.
so, hmmmmm, any1 got any ideas on wot this cud b??? i kno iv got a dodgy top engine mount if thats going to affect anything maybe?? any ideas would b greatly appreciated. im due to start a new job monday so having the car fixed by then wud b ideal

all checked, all less than 2 wks old aswel, so thats a no go
how does a split fuel injector hose sound to ppl??? iv got a split in 1 of mine, im assumin it wasnt openin up until it was under load, its now completely split and sprayin evrywhere, so its a permanent misfire. im takin an educated guess that the lack of fuel to that injector means no combustion??? must do really.
