hi...i have a mk5 fiesta van and the bonnet cable has snapped and i need to get the bonnet open to replace it. I have removed the front grill but still cannot get the bonnet open...

if you can see the mechanisim after removing the grill, you cannot open the bonnet by just operating the normal lever, you need to pull the mechanism that the cable normaly is attached to first then try the lever as the mech is a 2 stage jobby

 

this depends on which end has snapped so here goes take the cowling of the steering column and get a pair of pliers and pull the cable is 1,if it's snapped the other end then try remove the grille(without breaking it )and pull the mechanism towards the drivers side good luck
