Default Cossie Turbo problem

I have a 2wd saff, stage one, 4x4 intercooler and hybrid T3 turbo. the car holds 14-15psi. I am using a forge dump valve (6 allen key type with diaphram) The turbo is only 6 months old.

Today when driving and comiong off the accelerator, instead of the usual dump valve whooshm i am getting the chatter noise like you do when there is no dump valve fitted.

I haver taken the dump valve off, stripped it, cleaned it and put it back on but no change.

the dump valve is fitted on the turbo side of intercooler, and this has never happened before, until today!!

Any Ideas?

The car still seems to be boosting to usual 14-15psi
and goes down to -9psi vaccum. (these figs on my nomad boost guage)

The diaghragm is probably torn.

Put a small hose on the top and suck.. if you draw air, its knackered.

ok trying blowing and sucking but nothing! I am sure it is not torn. Any other ideas?

Also after futher driving today and testing, it only seems to be boosting to 13 psi and the vaccum drops right down to -12psi which seems alot?

I am sure i had a similar problem like this and it was something to do with the amal valve pipes i think!

A pipe had come off and i remember it sounding like turbo chatter, cannot be sure which pipe though! think it was near the amal valve though!

Just have a check around, maybe not this but worth a go!

Could be a spring problem on the dump valve. Borrow a DV - if it now dumps then that's ur problem - just buy a piston-besed dump valve and don't look back. I WISH my Cosworth had that problem instead the REAL problem that's making my car very unreliable.
