Default Squeeky steering

Hello, I have recently changed all of the bushes on the front of my Mk2 Fiesta XR2 as i was having trouble with the front tie bar knocking against the chassis every time i changed gear. I also had a loud rubbery squeeking and squarking from the front end as i turned the steering. I thought that changing all the bushes would cure this. The squeeking only seems to occur when the car has warmed up. After changing the bushes the knocking has stopped and the front end feels nice and tight as it should but as before the squeeking and squarking from the front still occurs after i have drove 10 - 15 miles can anyone tell me exactly what this could be?

Have you checked the mounts that hold the craddle to the engine/box under the car as they are forever breaking and may be the problem

Hi, I am in Shirley. Haven't seen any XR2's round here for ages. I reckon the problem may be as simple as some new shocks and springs. I had the top mounts off the other day and put loads of grease in there but it still creaks like mad. The probem only occured when steering but now it creaks when i hit a bump, especially those down good old Bills Lane and Tamworth Lane . The car is totally original and still had the original P6000 tyres on when i bought it from a chap in Essex, it even still had the plastic on the seats! So i suppose 18 years aint bad its first set of shocks and springs and it was just sat in storage for 15 years so that might have played a part in the problem.
