escort mk2 axle
hi, i have a rear wheel drive mk2 fiesta shell i am in the process of restoring, it is five linked with all mk2 escort running gear.
I want to put a cosworth engine in it which will mean getting a different axle but my question is -
"will a cossie axle fit or do i need to buy an atlas axle"
seeing as as an atlas axle to cope with the power will be very expensive i really hope it can be made to fit!
Thanks alot, Aid

gartrack used to make rwd escorts and orions, they used a cossie rear axel ( and ive seen another conversion like this) with either slightly widened arches or wheels with a wierd offset to get them under standerd arches. so it depends how much skinnyer your car is.
you could always go for a cossie axel with custom drive shfts (which arent that dear)
that way you can keep you standered body work (if your going for a 'sleeper' and you can keep normal offset wheels (look better in arches that way)
hope this helps (ps pm me some picks when mate, sounds like a beast

cool so the only reason people dont use it is the width of the vehicle? the car has a wide arch kevlar bodykit so width is no problem at all
made my day that, save me a few pounds there. Thanks alot, you've been a great help!
