Default RST overfuelling??

Iv recently bought a red rst as a project n noticed that the when the fuel pump primes when turning the ignition on it runs constant and floods the car when trying to start!

Is this just a case of changing the fuel pump or will i need a new metering head??

Cheers

its possibly the fuel pump relay sticking.
At the moment, to stop flooding the car, as the pump starts to prime, just start the car, don't let the pump run with the engine off.

Pump running constant should have no relation to the flooding issue.

Very true as until the metering plate is pulled down the injectors arent fed any fuel.

HI,

As jesseT ABOVE,, relay wont flood engine, at the air sensor plate with the ignition on
and fuel pressure you should have approx 2mm of free play before it actuates the metering unit plunger, make sure it is not sticking, push it down should be smooth, are you sure its not the cold start valve stuck on flooding the engine. take the injector/injectors out and with the fuel pipe/pipe's connected
with the ignition on bypass the fuel relay pin's 30 and 87 and the pump will
run continuously see if the injectors are fueling as with the sensor plate at rest they should not leak or spray fuel,if this is correct look at other area's to do with fueling.
