problem with my stereo
hello! baught a mk2 xr2 yesterday and the stereo didnt work so decided to put my one in.
but, i put the stereo in and connected it all up, put my speakers in, turned it on and there was just no bass
i had the stereo and speakers in my last car and they sounded well bassy and nice. but now they dont, would it be any thing to do with a wire anywhere or what?
sorry if its in the wrong place, but im new to the site.
cheers, si

hi mate check the + and - wires and make sure they are all correct
One way to check is if the stereo has balance on it, turn it all the way to one speaker and if it sounds bassier than when its on the middle you have probably got the +- mixed up.
what speakers and stereo is it ?
hope it helps.

alright cheers mate.
its a jvc headunit and jbl speakers.
theres 2 jbl speakers in the mdf parcle shelf (they came with the car)
and iv got the same jbl speakers that i just held and tested, but still didnt sound right.
i'll check all the wires in a bit then.
