Default Central locking problem on S2...

I have just re-fitted and connected up me loom in my S2 RST after removing it from the car whilst it was being restored.

Everthing works except the central locking, if you lock the passenger door from inside manually (i have no door locks) both doors do lock, but if you try locking it manually from the drivers side it just locks then unlocks straight away.

The passenger side door actuator isnt making a noise but ive already tried another working door actuator and that made no difference.

Also when you arm/disarm the alarm it has no affect on the central locking.

It did all work before the car was stripped down, but since then I have removed all the tailgate electrics (cause I now have no wiper, lock, etc), front electric windows and mirrors, and all the old K-jet wiring (for cossie management).

Can anyone help as im running out of ideas

Cheers

Paul

normally when it locks and then unlocks it's because it could not complete the circuit, is it possible that the fault is with the circuit to the boot as it is trying to lock something that isnt there ?

Yes. I found my earth wire had broken inside which is a common problem on these cars. Replaced the wire from the chassis behind the front speaker to the door and had no problems after that.

Cheers for all the help people.

Got it sorted now, one of the little metal pin connections in the multiplug to the door actuator had corroded and broken off (red multiplug, n/s/f footwell), replaced with new wiring and all is good.

Cheers
