Default erst chip

can anyone help me, i have an erst and i was told by the person i bought the car from that the ecu had been chipped. is there any way of me checking that it has been done, also if i buy a 2nd hand ecu with the chip soldered in already, what else would i have to do it once i fit it? would i have to take it to a rolling road to get it set up properly?

take the ecu off and open it up, unscrew the board and see what make of chip its got, if its not chipped and u buy a chipped ecu, the car will need setting up, u would also need the following depending on the chips spec ie 195 or 175 bhp chip bigger intercooler, uprated actuator exhaust, air filter and boost hoses

hope this helps
