I've got a '00 2.0L zetec focus, and in the near future I'll need to install an ignition system which I can hook up to a megasquirt computer, and afaik there is no way for me to do that with my current setup, since the EEC-V has the ignition stuff built-in etc.

Reading around on the internet I found out I can prolly grab an EDIS ignition system out of an older ford, and install it in my car without a lot of trouble, and hook that up to the MegaSquirt.. The question being: which cars can I lift one from? I'm imagining that I can use the EDIS systems found in all Mondeos using EEC-IV ... and maybe all escorts using EEC-IV too?

Which year models are those, does anyone know? And can I use an EDIS system from a 1.6L model (most escorts here in iceland are 1300cc or 1600cc).

Or am I missing some incredibly simple way around my problem? :-P

I've just megasquirted my Yamaha FZR1000 turbo and whilst reading the megasquirt forums I think I read somthing about the Focus using pulse width modulation on the fuel pump to control fuel pressure which megasquirt does not do. Does your Focus have a fuel pressure regulator and a return line back to the tank?

I'm using MS1 with the MSnS code to get the 12x12 VE map but will not be using the spark side of the system as there is no room for a 36-1 trigger wheel on my bike.
