Default fuel pressure regulator on rs turbo

A mate has got a problem with his rs turbo fuel pressure regulator, basically when you plug it in it causes the car to cut out. runs perfect discounted.

Ive tried swapping fuel ecu over, and pressure regulator over as well, from my car and still does the same.

I read a thread ages ago about this problem, but cant rember what caused it!! any help much appreciated.

You mean the electric pressure regulator? The engine temperature sensor may be faulty in that case.

I agree, this is a common fault on these cars. I replaced the brown sensor on the back of the inlet manifold and not had a problem since.

Cheers

Thanks for the replies, I try replacing the brown sensor. Hopefully that will sort it.

The brown one is the thermo time switch and is nothing to do with the management system as it controls the cold start injector ONLY!

You need to replace the yellow sensor which is the coolant temp sensor for the management.
