has anyone every designed any software to read ecu faults for a pc /laptop ect ,if so can u still buy it

for what ecu? if you're talking about weber l1, l6 or l8, there doesn't seem much point when there are only a few codes that can be perfectly easily read using a flashing led.

afaik not all chips have the fault codes enabled, so that could be why your led doesn't work. or it's not connected properly. that website i gave you the link to has a wiring diagram. if you can't get the led to work with your cip, try a std chip.
