Crank sensor

Is it ok to have a voltage on pin 1 and pin 3 when the crank sensor is unplugged I'm getting ting 5v on both need help

i am no expert ,but you have a ground a live and a signal wire .with ignition on you can get up to 5 volts at those 2 pins.i had similar wit my transit last week

Thanks a lot I was thinking that the signal wire doesn't have permanent voltages

And why are you testing like that ?

What exactly is the problem ?

And what voltages may appear can depend on the type of sensor, and simple voltage tests are rarely of much use with a multimeter
