Ford Focus Mk2 Self Locking Query!
Hi All,
Could anyone tell me if it's possible to "Turn Off" the cars self locking action on the doors please? I live in fear that the darn car could lock with the keys inside - - I know it shouldn;t happen but I reckon that the electronic device built in is simply not what I want and should there be a way to eliminate it I would be hugely grateful!
Second Query please?: I miss the dashboard button that my previous Focus's had allowing unlocking of the rear hatchdoor without using the Fob. Is this easily altered by wiring in a simple (?) switch somewhere? (eg: Behind the rear door trim, or via the fusebox, etc?)
Very many thanks, Richard

This may be the solution to auto relock disable, no liability accepted by me or the author of this if you get locked in the car
;
Get into car and close all doors.
Insert key into ignition.
Turn ignition on.
Operate drivers door lock switch on (lock) and off (unlock) three times.
Turn ignition off.
Operate drivers door lock switch on (lock) and off (unlock) three times.
Turn ignition on.
Operate drivers door lock switch just once.
The automatic relocking (also auto locking if fitted) is now enabled/disabled.
After the above sequence you then need to exit the car and lock it using the remote fob, then unlock it and see if the automatic relocking is functioning/disabled.
A tip is not to do this too fast to enable the soloniods to charge up between operations or you may find that the locks won't operate until had a while to recover.
I've got a Mk2 I might try it later.

I had hoped that there might just be some sort of electronic 'procedure' to get the darn thing disabled and will certainly try it, VERY many thanks, Richard
