I can't open the boot on my mk5 escort, tried wd40 in the lock and had no luck.
When I put my key in the lock there seems to be no action there at all.
Could anyone please tell me how I can solve this problem or if I need a new lock.

sounds like the key may be worn very common, all the groves on the key should be clear and not smooth...
