Default Rolling road

Just curios as to what they would do “set up “ wise on a escort s2, I’ve done all the basics, the engine is good and strong, cam dialled in correctly, ign timing set to 12deg btdc, correct fuel pressure, correct plugs and gaps ect.....as far as I am aware all they would do is set Co and check AFR and detonation under load as fuel and ignition cannot be adjusted without ecu work. would it just be just a case of setting the co at idle to achieve this ? Or is there more to it than that ?

From memory the on boost fueling is set by the emfpr on the side of the metering head.

(Electro magnetic fuel pressure regulator)

Ignition is set under load and a few BHP can be found by giving some advance but obvs det is needed ti listen for which is part of it. Also boost fuel is checked and adjusted. Me i check the sensor resistances and feeds. Also things like a smoke check and plugs like you said and compression. Then setting the TPS. Turbo is checked fir play etc. Just a mixed bag but depends where you go. Alot wont touch mfi. Other places will just strap it down and do a power run or others say it needs efi etc. All comes down to what you want and what you need

This should help you to understand what "We" will do as a setup and dyno.

BOSCH KE adds a little extra old school complexity as there are no diagnostics available so we need to manually test the resistance of the air/water./throttle and AFM sensors too as well as set the sensor base position and centralise it.
