Parking sensors.
I have a 2008 mk4 Mondeo titanium x and the parking sensors are faulty.
there is just a 3 second beep when activated and nothing else.
Is there a common cause for this?

Mostly Senors themselves (needs parking module DTCs checking to pin point).
Or broken wiring behind the bumper, again needs parking module DTCs to pin point which circuit.
