Default racetech boost gauge problem

just fitted a race tech boost to my cossie (4x4 stg1) and when on 3/4 to full throttle it rattles(audible) and fluctuates between 0.8 and 1.2 bar quite rapidly i had a boost gauge in which i swapped the race tech one for and that didn't do it, has any body had similar problems with them like using the wrong diameter pipe, taking a feed from the wrong place or should there be a restrictor in the original pipe some where as i only got about a foot of pipe with the gauge and had to use my exsisting pipe which is a larger diameter.

Hi , I had a similar problem, and solved it by putting in a restrictor...

yep, fit a restricotr in line (or snubber), basically will limit the voume (not pressure) of air that will affect the gauge, it has the effect of damping out he pulses caused from the 4 cylinders drawing in air as each set of inlet valves opens, and when revving on boost can cause quite a rattle,

i used a glycerine filled gauge to dampen the effects, but since gettingmy new 2 bar boost gauge dial kit from speedy in my escos , once i'm happy that it is arrucate enough ill take my aftermarket gauge out.
