2016 Connect non start HELP needed
Hi All
We have a Transit Connect 2016 that until today ran fine. Today we installed a tracker (works idea) we decided to install in the engine bay and ran a feed from the loom. To help with access we unplugged the ECU plug. Once everything was installed we reconnected the ECU plug and tried to start. The van now won’t turn over and displays a message of ‘Servive now due’ the mileage has disappeared and is now showing ——— instead. I believe the immobiliser has kicked in??The van locks fine and radio, lights etc work as such.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to reset the immobiliser? I’ve disconnected the earth on the battery overnight which I believe will reset the ECU.

PassionFord Post Whore!!
Have you got 2 keys?
Turn the ignition on then off with one.
Then again with the other key, it may start as the ECU should recognise both key codes, something unlikely with a potential theft.
P.s, not my idea found it Googling, not specific to Ford.

Thanks for the replies - with regards chopping into canbus, why is this not advisable? One of our newer Connects 2017 is fitted this way and doesnt seem to have any issue. I’m no expert though
we do have two keys so will definitely try that, thanks.
