Which Turbo
Hi, I'm looking for a turbo for a zetec engine but i dont want to buy one that is wrong for what i need, what makes a turbo good/bad for certain applications??
Im looking for 250bhp and the option to go upto 280ish in the future, but not sure what common turbo will be the best!? (Common for cheapness)
Any suggestions on easy turbos to pick up? Ive been looking for a subaru td04l but good ones are pricey and they dont seem too common.
Thanks!

10K+ Poster!!
KO4 VAG...Audi, Mk4 golf etc... is good for 260 to 280 bhp flat out on a 1.8litre so should get you to 250 on a ZETEC I would have thought, after that you can upgrade to GT28rs or borg warner for 400 bhp.
You can buy whole engines for £300 so a KO4 should be peanuts.

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
I think the scooby Td04 is ideal for the Zetec. Trouble is, it's so ideal that they are in demand for every turbo conversion going. I.e. Mx5's, turbo bike conversions and more.
Keep looking, they pop up.
It's reliable, compact, spools quickly and is already designed to flow 220~270 ish bhp on a 2.0 16v production engine.
Mine was ultra low milage from a 2.5 hawkeye wrx that was upgraded to sti spec.
What're are you calling dear ? The Gt25 from the Rs makes these look cheap as chips.

Thanks for the suggestions.... andafter spending a good couple of hours on ebay ive ended up with a td04 at a decent price, cheaper than the vw audi turbos,
Now i just need injectors, are the sti side feed good? (I think i will be using the rs1800 inlet i have as the rover inlet hits my servo)
Thanks
