One is off an abs equipped car, the other is not so they are not the same. Is one a non abs xr4x4?
A bit more info like car etc is useful
You may be able to swap one shaft over to the other end.

The left hand one is for ABS, the right hand one isn't.
I'd guess the right hand is after-market, the left is genuine.

What is wrong with the one that needs replacing? As said you may be able to build one in to the other

Why not strip the old one apart and see what is worn, it could be the output cup on the diff. No harm in stripping the old one as you were going to scrap it anyway.
