Series 1 Metering head issue
My RS Turbo S1 has been laying in storage for the last 15 years, finally getting around to getting her out again but I've hit a problem.
I've replaced the fuel pump as the last one was stuck.. but now I've put 20litres of fuel into the tank and with the pipe to the pump off I'm still getting no fuel out.
Have s1 got a swirl pit or something on outlet that could be blocked?

I'd drop the tank. 20litres is alot of weight behind whatever it blocking the outlet.
Probably a chunk of rust or similar but either way id have the tank off to remove the blockage and do a full clean out of the tank as otherwise 15yrs of shite will get forced through the entire system..

If I could get it unblocked I would let the fuel run out of her but there isn't even a drop coming out.
What's inside that outlet? I can only get in about 3 inches then hits a wall. Was thinking maybe try blow air in to try unblock it but I'm unsure of what's even on the other side.

The metering units are very sensitive to any dirt/debris. The fuel can also turn into some kind of gloopy mess if its gone stale and sat in there- more so for 15yrs. Unfortunately they arent something you can split apart and clean easily (without completely ruining calibration).
Might be worth sending to a specialist to strip down and rebuild. Or swap out for a known working one if you have access to spares.

Just bit of an update.
Been working at it again today, when I crack open the steel pipe going to the pressure regulator I then get fuel going up the injector lines out of metering unit.
Does this indicate a bad pressure regulator? Nothing coming out return end either.
