Engine Malfunction light... yet drives like a dream
Hey,
I bought a second hand Ford Focus 08 1.6 TDCi back in June and by July it was starting up with an engine malfunction message on the screen but with no other lights. It drove well and I had not issues (or money at the time) so continued to drive it.
Today I took it to a garage to get it checked over and was told that there was several fault codes including injector malfunction and DPF filter. When I have got home I have had a nosey at the injectors to see what states they were in and from a cursory look they look level and clean.
When looking online I found this thread - https://passionford.com/forum/techni...-oil-leak.html
My engine looks exactly the same except that the black crud stuff is also on the pipe in the picture. Does anyone know what it could be? I can not find a resolution for the other post so unsure if it was fixed and how it was fixed. The car drives really well, no drop in power at all, no funny noises apart from the odd squeak of a belt in the cold mornings and no issues at all driving it other than this message on my screen. I have my MOT in a month and want the car working with out this engine malfunction message by then.
Thanks
