I'll begin with hi and that I'm new to the forum in fact new to any forum.....but as I have an interest in fords mainly old ones, I thought this would be a fitting site......

My problem is :

I have fitted an rs1800 silvertop 1.8 Zetec to a 1.1 mk3 fiesta, originally started off as a quick budget progect because I wanted to make use of my Rs pop out rear windows.....I have fitted a esc red module for the spark and a banger racing bodge Jobby manifold off flea bay .... A 32 36 dgav carb off a pinto 2 litre, and although the car is starting up fine, the moment I increase the revs so that the second choke opens it bogs down........it will Rev out if u feather it out but I have obviously not taken it any further so as to not wash my Pistons......I have checked plugs and they are as black as ur hat!!!! Do I need to change jets etc? If so does anyone know how or what jet sizes etc to use ??? Or is there another underlying issue with the carb or something else ????'any help would be appreciated as it's almost sending me to tears.......

 

Not 100% sure but would hazard a guess at the edis module and the ignition timing. When using the module the timing is fixed which is not ideal but gets it running badly, so best to look for aftermarket management.

 

Jets will more than likely need to be changed.my friend has just come out the otherside of this nightmare.he junked the Edis and fitted nodiz ecu from motorsport electronics .brand new 3236 carb and manifold from Ike engineering.
Still ran shit.
Basically it need a setting up on a rolling road and setup properly which he did last Friday and its flying mow and made 127bhp
