im building a n/a 2.0 zvh for my mk3 xr3i.i need a 1.8 sump and pick up pipe are the escort and focus ones the same?.cant seem to find an escort breaking anywhere but plenty of focus's.feel free to pm me if you have one,lol

 

Focus was blacktop so a totally different sump to Escort.

You dont say if you're fitting a 2.0 blacktop or silvertop engine. Assuming silvertop you need a sump off an escort or mondeo with the s/top engine. 1.6 sumps are the same as 1.8's. 2.0's arent.
Escorts breaking all over ebay. Takes 2 seconds to find what you need..

Where does the the 1.8 come in ? The rwd guys like the 1.8 Sierra cvh sump as it sort of fits a Zetec.

A black top sump can be made to fit a silvertop and visa versa but the first is much more work.

Focus is a blacktop. Escort was a silver top. Mondeo had both.

But the silvertop escort / Mondeo sumps are differant.


The escort / Orion sump would be easier with the xr3 gearbox.

 

yeah if you want a 1.8 silvertop sump either a escort,or all zetec engined mk3 fiesta's are the same..

 

ok thanks, im pretty sure its a silver top bottom end im getting from a local engine builder who split it for the head.sumps are getting pricey on ebay probably due to all the zvh's getting built.all my local scrappys have are 1.6/1.8 focus's whiuch is a pain as it's only £20 for sump and pick up pipe .

 

so if i get a 1.8 mondeo sump and pick up pipe are these the same as the escort? im assuming i need the different shape sump to allow for the exhaust to pass under the engine.

 

Only a mk1/early mk2 mondeo as these had Silvertop engines. Anything else would be blacktop.

And yup required so the exhaust will go under without modification.
