Default Converting a ZVH engine with DCOM to omex throttle boddies

My Ford Orion current has a ZVH engine with DCOM carbs and a standard Distributor.

I am looking at the feasibility of fitting the Omex TBs and 600 series management as I am fed up with the carbs leaking and setting up and the struggle with emissions.

It would appear this is the best option:

I am aware that I shall need to fit a high pressure fuel pump and swirl pump.

The part that concerns me is the trigger wheel and crank position sensor.

My current flywheel has no facility for a CPS.

I have seen some ZVH installations with a trigger wheel and CPS sensor mounted on the cam pulley, but it seems that the crank pulley is the ideal location for this.

Does anybody know of any companies that perhaps have modified the bottom pulley for the trigger wheel and sensor or a company that would be prepared to fabricate something?

either use a zetec or cvh efi flywheel with the trigger on the back, or use a sierra CVH front pulley and make a bracket to suit.

Glad to see you're looking at electronic injection Trevor, should be a good step forward for the car

The 1.8 Sierra CVH pulley looks interesting. How would the sensor be mounted with this?

Agree with Turbo Zetec, the Zetec or CVH Efi 220mm flywheel is the most straightforward options

you could either try to modify the cvh cover, or make a new bracket. Flywheel is the easiest option though, as it's the standard setup on any zetec engine.

I believe that when I built my ZVH I used a 1600 CVH escort flywheel and had to enlarge the bolts.

I have a 2l Mondeo bottom end, which flywheel will fit the crank and the bell housing most efficiently?

the zetec flywheel is made for it so will be a straight fit
