Default Diffrence off XR3I 1,6 CVH

HI

Does anyone know what the difference is between a 105HP and a 90HP Escort XR3i.
I know that the 90HP model has a catalyst and the KE-jetronic. BUT what about the rest off the engine, is this the same as the 105HP model.
Is all this a simple matter off chopping off the catalyst and i have a 105 HP engine.

Sorry for any typos, but are living in denmark and haven´t used english in writing in 15 years

I am absolutely no expert but since no one else has replied.. 90hp sounds more like carb XR3s which pre-date the XR3i which came out around 1983 I believe with mechanical fuel injection? I know at the very end of the XR3i life in MK4 guise there was a pure EFI setup which looks very similar to the EFI setup on the later Zetec engine. I am surprised this was down that amount of power against the mechanically fuel injected XR3i but *from memory* late 205 GTi's had a similar revised engine management system and CAT for the new emission regulations post 1991 (?) and were also down on power..

After some research i found out that the diffrence is in the pistons og head, it´s the leanburn head, and a low compression(8,5:1) and then offcourse the Bosch KE injection(like RST).
