1.8 sierra fuel pump
All rite lads, have a problem here with the fuel pump in my 1.8 sierra, I've narrowed it down to the pump by no noise coming from it once the ignition is on and when removing the air filter and putting a drop of petrol into the carb it's makes an attempt to fire..now what I can't find is what relay is for the pump..I've been looking online and people mention a fuel cut of swith in the boot which myin does seam to have and also fuses in under the dash which it doesn't have either..so some form of help/guide nice would be much appreciated.
if it's a carb, it's most likely a mechanical fuel pump and it won't make a noise. on a CVH it's near the rear of the head, if you have a pinto it's at the front of the block.
i had to replace the pump on my cvh sierra, easy job and fairly cheap too!

After further inspection I can't see a pump any were in the engine bay..I've followed it back to the fuel filter which is located just in front of the petrol tank, from there into the top of the tank so I take it the pump is in the tank itself..check the boot floor for access with no luck..take its a tank out job?
if its got a fuel filter at the tank most proberbly got in tank pump, as mechanical pump car didn't have a filter at the tank. on the CVH engines with a carb the pump is on the rear left hand corner of the cylinder head as you look from the front of the car, the push rod from the cam to the pump is a known cause of no fuel to carb as it wears stopping the pump from working correctly.
