Default polys and coilovers

Im about to fit coilovers on my 3dr and poly bushes, is it worth changing the rubber in the front top mount with the poly type????
Anyone got coilovers on there 3 dr????

Yes as the standard ones might as well be made from marshmallows. i put a set of leda's in mine 2 years ago dumped the anti-roll bar at the front & fitted compression struts. also put eccentric top mounts in for bags of adjustment. It handles like a dream on good roads but is a bit noisy and hard on the B roads even with the shocks set at there softest.

Hi

Also fitted Leda coilovers just today, used TAS top mounts. The car is now sitting about 2" higher with the adjustment ring right at the bottom.. Will need to decide if the spring length needs to be shorter.

will test the car when its fully rebuilt, in 4 weeks.

apologies, it's not a 3dr. Escort 4x4 but the principle is the same.

TAS make eccentric top mounts, this means you are able to adjust camber and castor. I am still experimenting so I cannot get into any more detail. Cost is usually around Ł100 per item for escort.

Fitting top mounts with rose joints removes any rubber from the suspension, probably too hard for a road car. It's all up to the individual.
