Default Leaky sunroof

My headlining is wet around the corner of my sunroof on my mk4 Escort could it be the drain pipes are blocked? Can anyone tell me where abouts I will find the drain pipes? And how to check them?

IIRC the drains go into the sills, any rust around the sunroof?

Nope there is no rust around the sunroof. Hmm ok so how will I find them?! Do they exit at the bottom of the sills?

They exit inside the sills. Good old Ford design.

Inside?! Oh ok lol. So how will I go about finding them? And do you think that could be what is causing the leaking around my sunroof?

Yup. When I fitted my new sills I made holes for the drain pipe to run out of so any water will just exit onto the road.

I should think you'll be able to see the bottom end by taking the carpet up and looking inside the sills.

I remember making mine exit straight out of the bottom of the sill I needed to cut of a few inches so they probably run along the sill a little way.

hi mate you will find the drain holes in the front corners in the roof when you open the sunroof best way to clean them out is to get a old wire coat hanger get it as straight as you can and poke it down the holes and it will come out by the sills by the front wheels then run some clean water through the holes

Also the rear ones come out of the bottom of the rear bumper
Stick your head under the rear bumper, look up to the corner
You'll see a black pipe poking out

Mine was clogged with dirt n mud etc
