Evening all

over the past week or 2 i have noticed an issue with the breaking at different intervals. The other day i had the ABS and Traction light appear on the dashboard, but yesterday they flickered off. After doing some quick googling, the main things i am finding is that the abs sensor in the wheel (bearing?) Needs replacing or it's the speed sensor?

I also read that taking out the fuse for the ABS can be done but alters the braking ratio causing the car to become dangerous. is there any truth in this?

Don't remove the fuse. See if F-Super diagnostic program is compatible with your car. It's available cheap enough on ebay and reads ABS codes.

 

Had this on mine. Changed the front sensors and still did it. In the end I disconnected the rear sensors at the plug part which were full of dirt. Sprayed with electrical contact cleaner and then when reconnected wrapped in insulation tape. That was over a year ago and not happened since.

 

You'll need it fixed for the next MOT.

Get diagnostics on it, don't throw money at it guessing.

 

Ok guys cheers. Car has 10 months left on the MOT so ok on that part. Cars been good to me so far so hopefully nothing too major. Will try the rear plug thingy tomorrow if there's a lad from MT who is free to help lend their workspace.

Sorry for bump but just an update to say it was a loose driver side driveshaft! Found out after changing a tyre.
