Focus Sump Plug Right Or Left Hand Thread
I've got a 2010 2.0 tdci focus, I'm trying to do an oil change and managed to round off the allen key fitting have cut a slot in it and hammering the hell out of it but it won't budge, I'm starting to wonder could it be a left handed thread?
Exactly, there's no reason for it to be but who knows these days
I've put wd40 on, heated it up, cut a notch in it and beaten the crap out of it with a lump hammer and screwdriver, it won't budge, it's like it's welded in.

if youv`e cut a notch and its a good notch and your hitting it anyway, have you got or can you obtain an impact screwdriver, or stilsons ? they are grips (bloody good)
you could also syphon the oil through the dipstick hole if you had the proper gear
or a local quick fit type place probably use that anyway , Saturday is cash job day

I understand that but I'll have to have a look at it, I know it says turn one way to undo and the other to do the opposite but doesn't specify which section you turn, I'll take a pic of it and see if that makes any sense.
you turn the springy bit, quite abit of your strength is used but don`t need to be a weightlifting "3 powershakes aday" kind of person ,
just apply some pressure on it and you will see which way its set to ,
as it will turn slightly, push it onto a slab of concrete or piece of wood
it wants to be going anti-clockwise

They are normal thread, I had one round off the other day, I chopped out the copper washer from behind it, then twatted it round with a small punch, the chisel I use was just cutting shreds off it.
Not enough depth to get grips on either!
Rubbish things..French engines, say no more..
