Hi ive got a 1988 escort rs turbo and the vin number starts with SABTVR then all numbers it also has RST on the bottom of the vin plate. everything else seems to be ok with the car. if anybody knows anything about this or any info would be great. cheers bish

That makes sense but it's not on a q plate its on f plate,

could be re-shelled I suppose, but they use to retain the old numbers as on vin plate
originally it was wfobxx but now sabtvro
presume thieves removed id numbers, but vro were able to identify the car, from engine number, you could hpi it , something may show on database ?????

Hpi is a good idea I have done a text check and it came clear of stolen or a accident damaged, bit strange hip might show more, thanks for replies.
