Default 2wd ignition timing

jus a quick one does anyone no if you can adjust the ignition timing on a cossie by moving the dizzy? mine seems to be running at 14 degrees on tickover ive been told they should run at 16 degrees, non of the pins have been linked in the timing adjust plug neither (near the ecu), i have just fitted a new phase sensor if that helps but im certain i set it up right. has anyone delt with this before?

Afraid not, the ECU controls the timing.

Although there is a connector near the ECU that alters the timing to allow for different Petrol grades. Cant remember off the top of my head what timing figures it adjusts it to, but worth a check....

If i get a chance i'll have a look tomorrow....

it's quite common for the woodruff key or keyway on the crank pulley to be worn which can give you a 2 degree difference easily.

2 degrees is not a big problem, unless it was mapped too close to the limit in the first place. always use super unleaded and it will be safe. you could always connect up some of the jumpers to retard it for lower grade fuels.
