Hi all,

A friend of mine has a 2010 plate S Max Titanium TDCI 138. The Engine Management Light keeps coming on intermittently. There is no obvious lack of power etc.
She has had the car into Ford a few times but they are unable to fault.

Are there any common issues that may cause this and is there any components I can check? Would this not have displayed a fault code for Ford to see?

Any help would be much appreciated.

All depends how good the ford tech is really. I would say if its illuminating it should be storing. Could be one of a million things really. 138 tdci so the peugeot engine if im right. EGR valve. Split pipe. Dpf filter. Some kind of sensor thats failing intermittantly. Best get it to a decent garage that knows these engines as you could spend lots chasing faults
