Default power surge

hi everyone, having a problem with me cossie, here goes-
im having a surge of power then back to normal drive fine then a loss of power. This happens intermittently one or the other. After blasting the car down a bumpy road the revcounter went all over the place, then ran as normal! can anyone help please.

if it is rusty /loose /corroded it could all help with gremlins. a favourite one to check with "bumpy" syndrome is that the battery leads onto the battery are tight
