I noticed today that my -96 rs2k can't rev above 4-5k rpm at all, no matter which gear I'm running. It has all standard engine with decat...

Is this most likely a broken lambda sensor? Ht-leads? Spark plugs? Any thoughts please.

I got few months earlier a lambda sensor failure when I did fault code read, erased the code and the engine has worked fine after that..this car is killing me already after only 5000km driven...

 

Check the wiring to the coil packs as these can get brittle and crack, then they short on the cylinder head. Hope this helps you.

 

Car still does this, now gone even worse...

Engine works 100% well when cold, but when it's warm the esco starts to hesitate and stops almost totally pulling above 4000rpm. Anyone had exactly the same problem?
