Default cosworth ecu plugs same as anything else?

basically i have got a megasquirt ecu i bought a while ago and never used as i never had anything to connect it up to

i have now also got a 2wd sierra cos and as its a bit of a project and the ecu is of an unknown quantity/old i want to have a go at using the megasquirt on the car but also want to be able to plug the original back in when i actually need to move it etc

so...

what i want to do is get an ecu to canibalise and desolder the connector off so i can make a plug and play loom for the megasquirt and also be able to revert back to original with no problems

therefore my question is...as a cosworth ecu second hand seems to fetch good money working or fried is there any other ecu of any other model i can use that has the same 35 way plug or whatever it is as on my l6 ecu?

cheers

thats sound then

i might just butcher the abs ecu as i dont think it works anyway and lets face it...who needs it?

i take it you know this from plugging the wrong plug into the wrong ecu previously?

haha

anyone done the megasquirt thing before to?

i think in actual fact i could just piggy back the megasquirt to the original if i really wanted so i could go distributorless aswell which would justify the cost of a megasquirt anyway!

35-pin connector is the same on a lot of Weber-Marelli ecu's from back then. These ecu's were used on Fiat's and Lancia's.
Some old Bosch motronics also use this 35-pin connector.

Correct, these along with others such as the Meserati Bi-Turbo had two of them, (one for each bank)
