copper"slip" - and no - its an anti seize compound for where parts don't actually move a lot, like brakes and bolts that need to come undone again(exhaust bolts etc) it does contain small particles of copper and its melt point is not very high at all and so would all drop off and foul the plate anyhow.

I seriously hope your gearbox anint gonna see -73 or 180 degrees so it should be just fine!!

and copper slip cant have a low mwlting point or it wouldnt be much use on brakes would it That said you are not supposed to use it for clutches etc.

Just bang the stuff on you have got but dont put too much on - you dont want it all over the friction plate do you?

you shouldn't use copper slip because the particles of copper get inside the release and spigot bearings and cause them to fail! that is the explanation from lockheed or valeo i can't remember which. but if you think about it it makes sense.
