Hi I am new to this site, please can I ask for some technical advice,
My mates camb belt went on his Fiesta zetec, I have done the job,and set the timing according to the belt book, the engine is running fine , but it is heating up realy quick, and it is coursing very hot water to be expelled from the expansion tank, the heater is working fine and there are no Airlocks apparent, but the exaust manifold glows orange, yet the temperature guage remains normal , although the engine management light remains on, but that can be a thousand reasons, I am not familiare with these modern engines, Can any one please advise me as to why it could be running so hot? would apreciate any help please, my mate wants his car back. Thanks.

 

For that to happen re the exhaust it sounds like the ignition timing may be wrong (too retarded) it could be many things (such as a bad sensor etc) one easy way is to scan it for fault codes.
