Default engine stops (at the stoplights) after driving 1 hour.HELP!!

Hi,

I have a RST from 1986 (MK4)

When I drive approx. 60 mins on the freeway and I stop for a stoplight...My car dies when I pressing my clutch an dI want to put it into first gear again...

after that when the engine turns off I can't start it propperly anymore because of the starter motor is too hot ...so I have to wait 10 mins. and then it starts again...

A friend of mine says this ALL is the starter engine that is giving the problems ...because every time that you use your clutch the starter engine does something ...to keep the engine running ...

Now can someone confirm this and help me out?

Thanks,

Does it stall if you stop at a roundabout?

First of all the starter is only there to start the engine, it does nothing to keep it running or when pressing the clutch!

A new starter will fix your hot start problem.

As for the stalling, could be a number of things, a faulty temp sensor, co adjustment maybe an air leak.....
