Default Clutch slipping

My clutch has started slipping ,i noticed the other day when traveling on a dual carrageway in top gear accelerating on boost.
i have stripped the clutch out and the plate looks in good condition.
I did notice that the pressure plate was an after market item and i have no idea of make, again this was in good condition.
The flywheel looked good geenerally, but you could see where it had been slipping and getting hot.

What do people use as a clutch set up, i have heard that the standard pressure plate is best, please enlighten me with info on what i should buy.
The car is running stage 3 circa 350bhp.

Mnay, many thanks

Tim

I just have an uprated plate, it also has been known for a Transit clutch to be used, lol!

Perhaps your flywheel needs 'skimming'?

I went for a 6 paddle AP plate clutch, seems to work well even when I use the nitrous on top of the stage 3.

Default clutch slipping

Thought the flywheels were hardened steel and skimming removes the hardened surface..may be wrong/???????

I don't know tbh, I was just going ny a conventional case where the flywheel has been 'glazed'.

My 4x4 flywheel is on its 3rd skim still fine .
I've gone through a few clutches now .
The one that's in it now is a brand new standard ford Delphi cover plate with ap 6-paddle .
And is fine .
My last one lasted bout a year, I launch it all the time and go drag racing 4 times a year. Was perfect until the paddle wore out.
Just got it re-lined and put it back. No problems .

cossie flywheels are steel not cast and its better to have them ground

I'd go for a helix organic

Default clutch slip

I would like to put a standard ford pressure plate back as the pedal will feel light and normal, but are they still available now,

Cheers

So would something like an AP complete kit be good and last.

But would this make the pedal hard ?????
