air fuel mixture

which way do you turn the mixture screw to lean it off, i only have to start my car and the plugs are 100 black with soot.

1st point: you didnt say what car you have.

2nd point: I really wouldnt go leaning anything off unless you are to get the fuelling checked out properly.
